Leading Futures
Family Support Offer

You are not alone – we are here to support you every step of the way

Life can be challenging for our learners and their families, and we understand that every family faces unique struggles.

At Leading Futures, we are committed to providing support and creating a caring, welcoming environment where learners and their families feel valued.  Whether it's academic assistance, emotional support, or guidance through difficult times, we are here to help families navigate these challenges together.

Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the obstacles they may face outside of school.

What is Family Support?

Family Support is a way of accessing extra support when you, your child or your family needs it, at the earliest possible stage, rather than waiting until things get worse.

It is designed to give you the ‘right help, at the right time’. You can receive support from a wide range of services and organisations that can work together to provide the right support for your family’s needs.

Staff at Leading Futures are trained to offer Family Support which connects families with their home school and other multi-agency initiatives to support the family.  Our Family Liaison Officer will attend meetings in the capacity as a family advocate to help raise your concerns.

This early intervention can usually prevent issues from escalating and causing further difficulties in the future. We offer universal and targeted/specialist services to help create a brighter future for your child/ren and family, promoting overall welfare.

Community

Our Community Cupboard

Within our entrance area we have our ‘Community Cupboard’ where the following items are gifted to learners and their families:

  • Food Parcels

  • Hygiene Packages

  • Sanitary Products

  • Clothing and Shoes

It is important that our learners have the essentials to keep themselves sheltered, fed, clean, clothed, warm and healthy. We understand that some of our families may need additional support from time to time. Learners are free to take a carrier bag of items when they most need this.

We want the clothes items to go to a loving home where they will be worn and cared for.  We believe shopping for preloved items should be just as enjoyable as any other form of retail therapy. Each item that enters the Community Cupboard, is approved by us, ensuring it meets our high standards.

Learners can also access our Community Cupboard to find items for a relative’s birthday, a Mother’s Day gift and a Father’s Day gift. Wrapping paper is provided so that learners can wrap their gifts with love.

The items stocked in our Community Cupboard are kindly donated by staff within our provision and local companies.

Emotional and Mental Health Support

Learners can access such support by talking to any member of staff. A referral will then be made to the Mental Health Lead, Miss Rogers, who will talk to the learner directly.

Learners, parents and carers can also contact Miss Rogers directly at: a.rogers@leadingfutures.uk.  Alternatively, you can email our safeguarding team at:  safeguarding@leadingfutures.uk.

Our campaigns drive positive change in public attitudes and public policy. We ensure LGBTQ+ people can thrive throughout our lives by building deep, sustained change programmes with the institutions that have the biggest impact on us, whether we’re learning, working, praying or playing sport. We make sure that the world hears and learns from LGBTQ+ communities, and our work is grounded in evidence and expertise. And we’re committed to empowering people to create change in their own communities.

This charter sets out the standards that a child can expect from the people and organisations they might meet in the youth justice system.  A child’s interaction with the youth justice system is at a time when they are vulnerable and their engagement and trust in a fair process can make all the difference to what they do next. If a child knows what to expect, and who is responsible for what, they are more likely to trust and engage with the process.
