What Do We Offer?
At Leading Futures, our core aim is to provide effective support for local children who are struggling to access mainstream education. Our belief in, ‘the right support, at the right time,’ has driven us to develop a company with a trifold approach

Assessment Centre
Our assessment centre is at the heart of everything we do. We provide comprehensive, personalised assessments that give a clear picture of each learner’s abilities, strengths, and areas where additional support may be needed.
Our experienced team works with a variety of specialist tools and approaches to ensure that every assessment is thorough, accurate, and meaningful.

We take a collaborative approach, engaging closely with learners, families, and educational settings to ensure our findings translate into practical strategies and actionable plans. This enables us to tailor support that not only addresses specific learning needs but also promotes confidence, independence, and personal development.

Ultimately, our assessments are designed to empower learners, inform educators, and support the best possible outcomes, both academically and beyond the classroom.
Alternative Provision
Leading Futures have launched an alternative provision, based in Wolverhampton, that caters for learners predominantly in Year 9 to Year 11.
We provide learning pathways for up to 40 learners who are referred through the Wolverhampton Fair Access Process (FAP), via direct referrals from other Local Authorities or direct referrals from the child’s home school.
Our referral process is thorough to ensure that we can effectively support the learner from the onset.
Our alternative provision is a nurturing and inclusive setting dedicated to supporting learners with SEND and those who thrive in smaller, personalised environments.
We provide a safe space where every learner is valued, understood, and empowered to achieve their potential. Our approach combines academic progress with emotional wellbeing, using multi-sensory strategies and tailored interventions to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Educational Services
Our educational services provide in-reach support to colleagues. We aid schools in evaluating policies, provision and the efficacy of SEND support through our assessment services, CPD packages and SEND reviews. We are dedicated to facilitating strategic SEND planning which leads to improvement at both school and trust level.
Our professional and personal experience has instilled a desire to empower school staff in meeting the growing complexity of additional needs within mainstream settings, encouraging an equitable educational environment for all. We strive to develop staff understanding of, and empathy for, SEND learners, and are dedicated to improving both educational and personal outcomes through strengthening inclusive practice.
Who Are Our Alternative Provision Learners?
Learners may be referred to Leading Futures assessment centre by schools, or parents - if they are home educated - to help identify any barriers to learning and receive advice on the best ways to support.
At Leading Futures alternative provision, we support learners with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including those who are awaiting confirmation of a specialist school placement. In this instance we may offer a temporary, short-stay placement to ensure that the learner continues to progress towards desired outcomes and is not disengaged from education.
We have many years of experience working with a range of Special Educational Needs, including conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and are equipped to provide a structured and communication rich environment, with appropriate sensory adjustments.
Sometimes a child’s additional needs, such as mental health difficulties, can lead to emotional based school non attendance (EBSNA). This can put the young person at risk of exclusion from school. We are skilled at adopting a cognitive behavioural approach that will lessen anxiety and build resilience. We are able to support learners who struggle in this area.
Regardless of need, if we have places available at Leading Futures, and it is in the young person’s best interest to join our provision, we will explore the possibility of supporting the learner.
Our Learner Pathways
At our alternative provision, we offer short stay placements which are generally 6, 12 and 18 weeks in length. These placements are designed to offer supportive intervention for the young person.
All placements will begin with a ‘Welcome Meeting’ which enables Leading Futures to gather as much information as possible from the young person about their educational journey so far. We will also gather comprehensive information from the learner’s home school.
A ‘Mid-Point Review Meeting’ will be held to allow the learner, parent(s)/carer(s) and staff to discuss the learner's progress and any barriers to their progress.
On transition to a different setting or upon return to their home school, Leading Futures will offer an ‘Exit Meeting’ and ‘Exit Report’ to support the learner.
